Giving to the poor is not stimulus

The problem with wanna-be economists from the liberal ranks of the Democrat party is that they think income redistribution programs are stimulus programs. (Remember Pelosi and unemployment checks?)

Now food stamps are stimulus.

The Food Stamp Program has shown its effectiveness in recent years in its rapid response to the recession. Food stamp caseloads have increased by 50 percent since the recession started in late 2007. In addition, the 2009 Recovery Act increased food stamp benefits as a way of delivering economic stimulus. The program was deemed effective for this purpose because of its broad reach among low-income populations and its high efficiency.

Some 40 million people now use food stamps. My tax dollars at work. I don't begrudge a safety net, but we've gone way beyone that now.

FOOD STAMPS ARE NOT STIMULUS, YOU IDIOTS. GIVING MONEY TO POOR PEOPLE IS NOT GOING TO GET US OUT OF A RECESSION.

How stupid can people be? Blinded by their ideology, I guess. Let's be honest and call it what it is: Welfare, Income Redistribution, or even a saftey net (which many use seemingly forever). But it is not stimulus.
