From the past: The wisdom of Ronald Reagan

The federal government has taken too much tax money from the people, too much authority from the states, and too much liberty with the Constitution.

The problem is not that people are taxed too little, the problem is that government spends too much.

I've never been able to understand why a Republican contributor is a 'fat cat' and a Democratic contributor of the same amount of money is a 'public-spirited philanthropist'.

If the federal government had been around when the Creator was putting His hand to this state, Indiana wouldn't be here. It'd still be waiting for an environmental impact statement.

How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin.

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

We should measure welfare's success by how many people leave welfare, not by how many are added.

Latinos are Republican. They just don't know it yet.

Man is not free unless government is limited.

Of the four wars in my lifetime, none came about because the U.S. was too strong.

Republicans believe every day is the Fourth of July, but the democrats believe every day is April 15.

Government is not a solution to our problems, government is the problem.

I keep forgetting. In your world, the 8 years of Repub rule, then a crashed economy was cuz the Dems had a SLIGHT majority in Congress the last 2 years. AND, oil going from $17 to $147/bbl, during the Bush Cheney years, which wrecked our mfg base, was a 'coincidence'. Remove your head from your ass and get a clue. Never mind, you ARE consistent, and I am tiresome, for bringing up 'history'.

This was just a post about Reagan, and you are still stuck on the same ol shit.

Man, you need help. I've read your blog.

Get some help, please.

Oh, btw, SLIGHT majority?

256 to 179 in the house? Even in 2007 it was 233 to 202. You are so full of shit. Part of the problem in this country is people like you who don't have a clue.

So quit telling me to get my head out of my ass. Go bother someone else.

ovomit's answer is the opposite of Reagans with government is not the problem but it is the solution and look where we are now with $4 trillion more debt since he took office from bush. Unemployement 4% higher since he took office. The lowest unemployement has been under ovomit was his first day in office. Nothing but up since then.
He hasn't got a clue as to what he is doing which is why he is always going on vaction or out playing golf.

Yup the last 2 yrs of bush's reign the dems were in charge of congress. So why weren't they the party of NO like the minority Reps are now with ovomit? Wasn't till 2007 when the dems took control of congress that the country took a massive dive. Barny Frank making a mess of fannie mae/freddie mac.

Clinton's golden yrs the Reps were in charge of congress.

Reported just this morning: unemployment rate up from 9.5 to 9.6.

Yup, the Dems, who have been in control for 4 years, are doing a fine job.
